.Created in 2011 by the UEMOA Conference of Heads of State and Government, with a view to better involving local authorities in the integration process in order to meet the challenges of globalization, the UEMOA Council of Local Authorities (CCT-UEMOA) continues to work for better development community. As part of this mission, the CCT-UEMOA delegation, led by its president François-Albert Amichia, was received by the President of the UEMOA Commission, Abdoulaye Diop, on 4 August last. On the occasion, the Chairman of the CTC was asked to present the activities of the body he chairs. In particular, he emphasized financial decentralization, cross-border cooperation, peace and security, and capacity building, which were important points in their roadmap
.Seizing the opportunity, he requested the support of the Commission for the renewal of the bodies of the Union Consultative Body, with the holding of an elective general assembly. It is then that the President of the UEMOA Commission will speak, in the presence of Commissioner Jonas Gbian. Welcoming this working session, President Abdoulaye Diop reassured the CTC that the Union's Executive Body would continue to support it. “Local authorities are local institutions that help to establish development, they must be supported,” he said.
