Cameroon: Top 10 of the largest turnovers achieved by non-life insurance companies in 2020

The turnover of non-life insurance companies in Cameroon is 140.9 billion FCFA in 2020. According to recent data published by the Association of Insurance Companies of Cameroon (Asac), this figure represents a decrease by 0.71%.

The market leader (14.60%) Axa, the Cameroonian subsidiary of the French Axa, posted a turnover of 20.57 billion FCFA in 2020 against 20.77 billion FCFA in 2019, a decrease of 0.96 %. In second position, the pan-African group Activa Assurance, which controls 11.89% of the market share of the non-life branch during the period under review, posted a turnover of 16.75 billion FCFA against 17.39 billion at the same period the previous year. The third Chanas, a Cameroonian insurance company majority controlled by the National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH), which controls 10.02% of the sector, posted a turnover of 14.12 billion FCFA in 2020 against 12.18 billion during the previous exercise.

The top three is followed by Saar Assurances whose turnover is 14.04 billion FCFA and in 5th position, the insurer Allianz Cameroon with 12.8 billion in turnover in 2020. To form the top 10, we have respectively: NSIA Cameroon (8.07% of market share); Mutual Guarantee for Executives – GMC (6% market share); Saham Cameroon (5.27% market share), Atlantique Assurance (4.46%) and Zenithe Insurance (3.96% market share).
