The 6th session of the Steering Committee ( CoPil ) of the Program for the harmonization and modernization of surveys on household living conditions in the Member States of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) was held from 02 to August 04, 2021 in Lomé. An initiative of the WAEMU Commission which brought together experts in statistics, directors general of statistical institutes of member countries of the union and technical and financial partners including the World Bank (WB).

                               

The program for the harmonization and modernization of surveys on household living conditions in the WAEMU space aims to strengthen the capacities of national statistical institutes in the conduct of large-scale surveys through the realization in each of the Member States of two series of harmonized household living conditions surveys. The project was signed in 2016 for the benefit of member states through a grant agreement between the WAEMU Commission and the World Bank. The participants will examine the 2020 activity report, the 2022 annual work plan and budget (PTBA). The recommendations resulting from the internal and external audit missions and the program's accounting monitoring will also be examined. These various reviews will be included in the WAEMU budget. According to the chief of staff of the Ministry of Development Planning and Cooperation of Togo, Essohanam EDJEOU, representing his supervising minister, the program constitutes a great opportunity and a great asset for the UEMOA countries and Togo in particular. , in terms of the availability of information on the quality of life of populations.
