The kingdom is placed under surveillance for its failures in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, along with three other countries. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has finally revised its copy, but when it comes to reputational risk, it must be understood that the implications for Morocco are significant. To facilitate and make the exchange of information more efficient, the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration (ADII) raises awareness.

At Customs, it is time to raise awareness among traders in metals, precious stones and works of art in order to make the fight system more effective. Especially since Law No. 12.18, published in the official bulletin of June 14, brings new elements in relation to the legal control system. Thus, as part of the popularization of the new provisions in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration (ADII) organized a series of meetings, with the aim of reinforcement of surveillance actions.

Thus, two meetings were organized, on July 9 and 16, at the headquarters of the Regional Customs Directorate of Casablanca-Settat and the Regional Directorate of Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima, for the benefit of representatives of traders in metals and precious stones, in collaboration with the National Authority for Financial Intelligence (ANRF) and the Moroccan Federation of Jewelers, informs the ADII. A third followed, held on July 29, 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, with the participation of the ANRF and the ADII, this time for the benefit of art dealers.
