The Directorate General of the Treasury and Public Accounting (DGTCP) of Côte d'Ivoire through the Directorate of Credit Institutions and External Finance (DECFinEx) and the Central Agency for Contentious Claims (ACCC), regularizes payment incidents related to checks. It announces a vast campaign to fight against payment incidents related to checks.

Over the periods 2018, 2019 and 2020, respectively 2,037 checks, 1,986 checks and 1,972 checks were regularized at the level of the Public Treasury. Following this observation, the Director General of the Treasury and Public Accounts, Jacques Assahoré Konan, instructed his services to intensify actions to raise awareness and fight against these payment incidents. The Treasury, which observes a high number of checks returned unpaid, within the framework of the production of statistics relating to the regularization of said payment incidents, initiates an awareness campaign each year.

The campaign targets not only bankers but also the population, indicated Mr. Savané Mory, the director of credit establishments and external finance (DECFinEx). The Public Treasury intends to make the population more aware of good practices relating to the use of checks as well as the regularization procedure in force.
