On both markets, parallel and official, the Algerian dinar remains a weak currency against the main currencies. In the capital Paris, next to Square Port-Saïd, currency traders continue to supply the black market.

The single European currency, despite the significant decline it has recorded in recent weeks, remains above the symbolic bar of 200 Algerian dinars on the black market. The US dollar meanwhile, clings to its record, on the official market. The most traded currency remains the euro which is sold against 209 Algerian dinars for purchase and against 211 Algerian dinars for sale. The value of the US currency has remained stable for several days. A single US dollar is exchanged against 179 Algerian dinars for sale and against 176 Algerian dinars for purchase. Finally, the pound sterling continues to dominate market prices. A single pound is exchanged against no less than 239 Algerian dinars for sale and against 236 Algerian dinars for purchase. At the Bank of Algeria, the dinar is not doing much better. Against the main currencies, the national currency remains in a weak position. While the Euro tries to make up for the decline it has seen in recent days, the US Dollar does not seem ready to move away from its latest record high.
