Benin is striving for first place in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) with regard to the implementation of community programs and projects. In this context, the Regional Integration Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance is organizing a workshop on July 8 and 9 in Cotonou as part of the preparations for the 2021 edition of the annual reform review, community policies, programs and projects.

A total of five annual reviews have been organized in Benin, in conjunction with the Regional Integration Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Armand Sounton, coordinator of the said unit, indicates that the country has distinguished itself over the past three years as one of the countries in the community space that has made several leaps, with an average rate of 77% in the implementation community reforms. He recalls that the ambition for this year is to bring Benin to the forefront in terms of the rate of implementation of reforms, policies, programs and community projects of UEMOA. As a prelude to the 2021 annual review, all national stakeholders, in particular the sectoral ministries, will take stock in Cotonou, on July 8 and 9, of the implementation of the institution's recommendations to Benin to " thus make adjustments with a view to improving Benin's score during the annual review itself”. The workshop organized for this purpose therefore aims to assess the level of progress in the transposition and implementation of UEMOA directives, regulations and decisions involving several ministries and structures.
