At a total cost of 72 million dollars, this support made it possible, among other things, to equip thirteen laboratories for the analysis of screening tests and other biological analyses, the establishment of more than 80 screening centres, the establishment of three treatment centers including the equipment of the treatment center of the former police school, the construction and equipment of two hospitals with prefabricated materials in Abomey-Calavi and Natitingou for a total capacity of 180 beds. It also promoted the acquisition of nine medical ambulances and more than 6,000 personal protective equipment, the supply of equipment, materials and drugs for emergencies and medical relief with 60 respirators and the purchase of five universal anaesthesia, equipment and materials for taking the temperature and more than 1000 hand washing devices.

The Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Benin, Tsugawa Takahisa, proceeded on June 22, 2021 to the official launching ceremony of the project "Strengthening the life skills of young people and fostering their socio-economic reintegration to promote peace and cohesion social in the Atacora". A project funded by Japan at a total cost of about 475 million FCFA. Takahisa Tsugawa also donated five thousand six hundred (5,600) tons of rice to the Beninese people to the Beninese government, granted as part of Food Assistance for the 2019 fiscal year. This contribution estimated at a total cost of three hundred and fifty million Japanese yen, approximately one billion seven hundred and fifty million CFA francs, not only contributes to the strengthening of food security in Benin but also to the execution of several projects.
