Benin's economic and financial outlook for the period 2022-2024 was presented to deputies last Tuesday. The macroeconomic framework for the year 2022 shows an amount of 1567.1 billion FCfa of internal resources from the general budget against 1428.8 billion FCfa in 2021.

The Minister of State for the Economy and Finance, Romuald Wadagni was before the National Representation as part of the 2022 budget orientation debate. According to his presentation, the total resources of the general State budget should show an increase an annual average of 12.6% over the period 2022-2024. Specifically for 2022, they would be 1,567.1 billion FCfa against 1,428.8 billion FCfa in 2021, an increase of 9.7%. General budget expenditure would experience an average growth rate of 9.7% over the 2022-2024 period.

According to the report presented to the plenary by the Committee on Finance and Exchanges, which studied the various budgetary documents sent to Parliament by the government, it is noted that the resource mobilization policy will focus on the one hand on securing the resources collected , broadening the tax base and promoting tax compliance on the other hand. By 2024, the resources of the general budget would reach 2,036.562 billion FCfa. In terms of expenses, they would be 2,347.885 billion FCfa in 2024 against 1,880 billion FCfa in 2022, an increase of 24.8%.
