After the work of the plenary session of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the structure indicates its satisfaction with the efforts made by Mauritius to correct its shortcomings in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing. The only thing left for the FATF is to send technicians on site to verify the guarantees provided by the Government of Mauritius. The exit of Mauritius from the FATF gray list and therefore from the European Union list is therefore on track. During this work, it appears that the FATF management has expressed its satisfaction that all the criticisms levelled against the Mauritian financial services sector for failures in its fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism have been corrected, which is a sign that the FATF management has valid reasons for no longer keeping Mauritius on its grey list.
