Officials from 13 ministries and social partners met on Tuesday in Abidjan to take stock of the Government's mid-term commitments to “make decent work and productive employment a reality for young people”.

The workshop devoted to the mid-term review of the Declaration adopted at the end of the 14th African regional meeting took place in the presence of the Director, Country Office of the International Labor Organization in Abidjan, the Director General of the Labor and the Minister's representative. The resolution adopted under the name of "Abidjan Declaration" offers "a regional framework aimed at realizing Africa's potential for inclusive growth and building a future of work based on social justice" Through this Declaration, the constituents on the African continent committed to “making decent work and productive employment a reality for youth in Africa; develop skills, technologies and productivity as essential tools to improve the future of work in Africa, transform the informal rural economy in Africa to achieve decent work: respect international labor standards, promote dialogue society and achieve equality between men and women".
