The Pointe-Noire Special Economic Zone operates on two fronts, namely right-of-way A (27 km2) located between Pointe-Noire and Loango, and right-of-way B (2 km 4) located in Tchamba Dsassi - villages Fouta and Nkotchi-Fouta. With a combined area of 29 km2, it will cost the State about 80 billion FCFA for the expropriation of duly identified areas, four billion of which have already been

disbursed.

The information was given on June 12 during the visit to the Pointe-Noire Special Economic Zone (SEZ) by Emile Ouosso, responsible minister. This work mission, the first of its kind since its establishment, allowed the Minister of Special Economic Zones and Economic Diversification to define the physical limits of the Pointe-Noire site, according to the zone delimitation plan. Bounded in a red zone, right-of-way A will be composed of an industrial zone (heavy and light industries) and a residential zone. After the partial investigations, this project entered the phase of gradual expropriation, at the expense of the State treasury. In this area of 27 km2, the expropriated land is being demolished

In return, this part of the ocean city will be transformed into a Special Economic Zone. In the long term, around 120,000 direct jobs will be created in this zone, caused by companies operating in the zone. Spaces have been reserved for the construction of several production units. In addition to industrial and residential areas, a portion is reserved for the mineral port, the dry port, and the public service (town hall and others). Ecological areas, a water treatment system, roads and roads are also planned

Emprise B is exclusively dedicated to the refinery. Since the first stone was laid last February by the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou N'Guesso, the site reserved for the construction of the Atlantic petrochemical refinery has not undergone major changes. This lethargy is explained by the conduct of studies, including the design and identification of installation areas. In the field, the machines have begun drilling work. Environmental impact studies have been carried out, including the public utility survey and post-expropriation surveys
