The 13th session of the Partnership Commission between the Republic of Niger and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg was launched by videoconference on Friday, June 11, 2021. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Diallo Amina Djibo, presided over the ceremony marking the signing of the new Indicative Cooperation Programme 2022—2026

.

The new Program is aligned with Niger's priorities and guided by the principles of aid effectiveness, and is intended to be a program that implements a real partnership between the two countries with shared responsibilities. “The signing of the new Indicative Cooperation Programme 2022—2026, whose budget envelope amounts to more than 144 million euros compared to 115 million euros for the previous programme, testifies to the excellence and dynamism of this cooperation”, stressed Diallo

Amina Djibo.

The Director of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Manuel Tonnar, has indicated that the signing of PIC IV is the largest programme ever signed in his country, which already places Niger in first place among the cooperation partner countries.

Scheduled to be held in 2020 in Luxembourg, this session had to be postponed several times for reasons related to the Covid-19 pandemic. This meeting aims first of all to assess the bilateral cooperation that exists between the two countries, in particular by taking stock of the implementation of the ICP 3 indicative cooperation programme for the period 2016-2021, and also to provide an overview of the brand new Indicative Cooperation Programme (4) 2022—2026, which was signed during the friendship and working visit carried out by the President of the Republic of Niger Mohammed Bazoum in Luxembourg, on May 19,

2021.
