The State of Senegal has just benefited from an 18-month financing agreement. The Executive Board of the IMF approved this confirmation agreement and an agreement under the Confirmation Credit Facility for an amount of CFAF 350 billion.
The IMF is completing the third review of the program supported by the Economic Policy Coordination Instrument. According to a press release from the institution, the financing agreement, combined with the economic policy coordination instrument, will provide an economic policy anchor for the next phase of the authorities' response to Covid-19 and will support a strong and job-creating recovery. The approval of the agreement follows emergency assistance that the IMF granted Senegal in April 2020 in the amount of 442 million dollars at the time of approval.
