According to the BCEAO's 2020 annual report, food production in WAEMU countries is around 69.675 million tonnes for the 2020/2021 campaign,

Compared to the 2019/2020 campaign, this food production is up by 5.1%. An improvement driven by tubers (+3.9%) and cereals (+3.8%). As for the production of other crops (legumes, horticultural plants, fruits, etc.), they experienced a surge of 10.0%.

For this crop year, rainfall conditions were favorable overall. The quantities of water recorded were higher than the averages observed over the period 1981-2010. The harvests of food crops obtained during the year 2020 are up by 14.8% compared to the average production achieved during the previous five years.
