The State of Benin was on the West African Monetary Union (UMOA) financial market on May 27, 2021. Through the General Directorate of the Treasury and Public Accounts, it raised an amount of 66 billion FCFA at the end of its simultaneous issuance of a stimulus bond (ORD) from the Treasury with a maturity of 3 years. After an auction, the agency UMOA-Titres identified 170.805 billion FCFA in global tenders from investors out of the amount tendered by the issuer of 60 billion FCFA. This gives a coverage rate of 284.68% for the amount put up for auction. Of the amount of tenders, the Beninese Public Treasury retained 66 billion FCFA and rejected the remaining 104.805 billion FCFA, representing an absorption rate of

38.64%.

The capital of the issued securities will be repaid on the first business day following the due date of 28 May 2024. As for the payment of interest, it will be made annually on the basis of an interest rate of 5.25%. The weighted average return was 5.09%.
