The Country Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Fréderic Lapeyre, was on Tuesday 25 May 2021 at the premises of the National Council for the Informal Economy of Burkina Faso (CNEI-BF). The objective of this exchange and work visit is the validation of the integrated national strategy for the formalization of the informal economy into the formal economy. Fréderic Lapeyre discussed beforehand with the Minister of Youth and Employment, Salifo Tiemtoré and all actors involved in the development of the formalization strategy on how to improve the world of work in Burkina. According to him, these meetings are part of the validation of the integrated national strategy for the formalization of the informal economy into the formal economy. This improvement requires support for actors in the informal sector, in order to increase their productivity and reduce their risks and vulnerabilities so that they can converge into the formal economy

The CNEI-BF will play a fundamental role in the implementation of the strategy. He will work at the provincial and national levels to ensure that the voice of actors in this economy is taken into account both in the formulation of policies and in their implementation.
