Despite the explosion in demand, Beac maintains the same value for the liquidity injected into banks. On May 25, 2021, the Bank of Central African States (Beac), the issuing institute of the six CEMAC countries (Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Chad, CAR and Equatorial Guinea), put at the disposal of banks operating in this community area, a liquidity envelope of 250 billion FCFA. The central bank is maintaining its initial weekly envelope for the benefit of credit institutions, despite the observed increase in demand from banks. Since The beginning of 2021. The explosion in demand on the market for bank refinancing by the central bank is such that in March 2021 alone, a record envelope of 1,213 billion FCFA was injected into the Cemac banking sector

“Credit institutions in the sub-region had never captured so many resources during the central bank's weekly liquidity injection operations over a one-month period,” notes the Cameroon Autonome Amortization Fund (CAA) in its report on Cameroon's public debt at the end of March 2021.
