Federal Prosecutor Patrick Lamon is on schedule to retire at the end of May. According to him, the impending retirement alleviates the silence imposed by the Code of Criminal Procedure and the duty of reserve. Patrick Lamon, after a career as an investigative judge in the canton of Fribourg, joined the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office in 2001. As a prosecutor, Patrick Lamon investigated some high-profile cases related to Central Asia. Since 2016, he has also served as money laundering manager at the MPC, a position that he is now handing over to his colleague Gérard Sautebin. This role has led him to be part of various national and international working groups to try to curb the flow of criminal money, and has made him one of the most qualified practitioners in the country in the field
