Scatec Solar, Engie and the TBEA-AMEA Power consortium have been selected for almost 2 years to build five solar power plants totalling 500 MW. After the executive, the Parliament should soon validate the concession contracts for the construction of these photovoltaic plants in the south-west of Tunisia.

This market of an investment valued at 400 million dollars represents the largest investment project in Tunisia currently. Despite reduced parliamentary activity due to the political crisis and Ramadan, the deputies of the Energy Committee could vote in a few weeks, in the wake of the executive.
After long months of waiting, the government of Hichem Mechichi had finally validated in March their concession contracts. These were all awarded in the context of the same call for tenders, the concessionaires had negotiated head-on with the government. They were represented by the business law firm Allen & Overy, with the state supported by Norton Rose.
