Despite the damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Togolese economy is showing strong resilience. With a growth rate raised to 1.8% for 2020, against an initial forecast of between 0.4 and 0.7%, the country has accelerated the post-Covid recovery.

During a lunch at the Elysée with his counterpart Emmanuel Macron, President Faure Gnassingbé indicated that Togo's economic trajectory offers many opportunities. “I am really keen to strengthen the economic partnership with France,” he adds.
French business leaders were interested to learn that Togo was in advanced discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank to mobilize new financing. Thus, they will support the national development strategy contained in the 2025 government roadmap.
