The Ministry of Economy and Finance informs in a report that mobile telephony turnover in Côte d'Ivoire stood at 910.8 billion FCFA at the end of December 2020 compared to 828.5 billion FCFA over the same period in 2019, up by 82.3 billion FCFA, or 9.9% .The increase in mobile telephony turnover is linked to the “popularization of teleworking,” which led to a Strong recourse at the service of the Internet and the volume of calls in connection with compliance with social distancing measures imposed by the government as part of the fight against Covid-19

The report mentions that in 2020, the telecommunications sector recorded “a performance marked by the dynamism of global turnover and communication volume in connection with the continuation of the investments committed” as well as “greater use of services”.

However, the Ministry of the Economy indicates that, the report highlights that at the level of fixed telephony, “the number of subscriptions (-1.4%) and turnover (-6.6%) both fell.
