The African Development Bank (AfDB), in its outlook, indicates that real gross domestic product (GDP) growth in Morocco should rebound to 4.5% in 2021.

As the economy recovers from a major recession and agriculture returns to good growth, the AfDB estimates that real GDP growth should rebound to 4.5% in 2021.

The Pan-African financial institution recalls that during the third quarter of 2020, exports of auto parts as well as phosphate and derivatives rebounded and are expected to strengthen further in the short term with the increase in global demand. She adds that “this will probably offset the sluggishness of the tourism, hotel and restaurant sectors which is expected to continue”.

Moreover, the AfDB believes that “rethinking the development model to promote inclusive growth is the mission assigned to the special commission”.
