Under the fact sheet on the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) and its amendment approved by the G20, Togo's debt to the Paris Club's creditor countries is suspended until 30 June 2021.The financial group indicates in a press release dated 11 February 2021 that this is a six-month extension of the suspension of debt repayment granted to Togo due to Covid-19.

The measure suspending debt service covered the period from May to December 2020.
According to the press release, this temporary suspension of debt is conditional on the commitment of the Togolese government to “devote the resources released by this initiative, to increasing spending dedicated to mitigating the health, economic and social impact of the Covid-19 crisis. He also undertook to request from all other official bilateral creditors a debt service treatment in accordance with the agreed form and its amendment.”
