Google Ventures, Google's investment fund has just invested in the world of cryptocurrencies. The latter made his first choice on Blockchain.com , a provider of wallets and data for bitcoin.

Since its creation in 2009, the Google Ventures investment fund has relied on many blockchain and cryptocurrency players. Google Ventures has raised $120 million from other institutional investors, including Access Industries and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Google Ventures had already put the pot in 2014, during a fundraising of 40 million euros.
“What excites me the most right now is the immense optimism among serious institutional investors towards cryptocurrencies,” said Peter Smith, founder and CEO of Blockchain.com . As bitcoin crossed the $50,000 threshold, the company claims 65 million wallets. 28% of all bitcoin transactions are said to have been made on its site.
Google Ventures launched its fund specializing in tech players, two months after the creation of bitcoin in 2009. But it was from 2013 that it began to invest in these players, such as Ripple, OpenCoin etc.
