The survey on banking conditions indicates a fall in borrowing interest rates during the month of November 2020. Excluding charges and taxes, the average rate calculated at the UEMOA level was 6.49% in the month under review compared to 6.66% a month earlier, a decrease of 17.29 basis points (bpd).
In its monthly economic climate note, the BCEAO informs that the increase in the cost of credit noted at the level of individuals limited the downward trend in credit costs during the month of November 2020.
According to the institution, the analysis according to the purpose of the credit reveals that the fall in rates is localized at the level of export credits, cash and equipment.
