The coordinator of the Senegalese Social Forum, Mamadou Mignane Diouf announces the imminent holding of an "International and Pan-African Conference" in Dakar. Reached by telephone by allafrica, he said that this meeting will serve to further advocate for the pure and simple cancellation of the outstanding amount of African bilateral sovereign public debt.

Within the framework of the program of activities of the African Initiative for the cancellation of the African debt (Iada), the experts, coming from all the States will meet soon to make the plea for the pure and simple cancellation of outstanding public debt estimated at CFAF 375,000 billion. The initiative aims to revive the economic growth of the countries of the continent hard hit by Covid-19.
According to Mamadou Mignane Diouf, the African Initiative for the Cancellation of African Debt (Iada) is a citizen platform initiated by Senegalese organizations and personalities of all persuasions to join and support the public appeal launched by the head of the State, Macky Sall to all African States to come together and demand purely and simply the total cancellation and without conditions of the African external public debt.
The meeting will bring together African States (Governments and Parliaments), the World Social Forum Committee, the Committee of Third World Countries (Cadtm), citizen and trade union social movements.
