The Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama told the Nigeria News Agency on Sunday, February 07, 2021, that his country is inspired by China to develop its economy.

The performance of China and the various strategies developed to grow its economy and become less dependent on imports serve as a lesson for Nigeria's leaders.
Analyzing the 50 years of bilateral relations between the two countries, Geoffrey Onyeama said that his country was on the right track, and that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari had given priority to all sectors that would boost the economy, including agriculture.
“We would like to replicate what China has achieved,” he said. According to him, China's strong point is its ability to feed its population. The second point is to have sufficient financial capital to generate wealth.
