On February 17, 2021, the State of Togo will pay the semi-annual margin and partially repay its Islamic bond called “Sukuk State of Togo 6.50% 2016-2026” for a total amount of 14.861 billion FCFA (22.292 million euros).
The half-year margin amounts to 4.252 billion FCFA and the partial reimbursement of capital to 10.608 billion FCFA. This planned payment will follow four others for a total amount of 62.884 billion

FCFA.

From July 20 to August 10, 2016, the Togolese government authorities launched a public offering on the financial market of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA), a Sukuk or Islamic bond for an amount of 150 billion FCFA. To attract investors and subscribers, they had set a profit margin of 6.5% to be paid to them. The Sukuk lasted 10 years, covering the period 2016 —

2026.

The operation was structured around a joint debt securitization fund (FCTC) which issued 15 million shares with a nominal value of 10,000 FCFA per unit.

The Sukuk asset consisted of the usufruct of a set of 12 properties located in Togo. This is in particular the case of the Site Foire Togo 2000 building of 92,400 square meters valued at 72.493 billion FCFA, the Togo Telecom headquarters of 31,040 square meters valued at 19.552 billion FCFA, the OTR Tax Office building of 14,200 square meters valued at 13.739 billion FCFA, or the Ministry of Commerce building with an area of 4725 meters. Three squares valued at 8.390 billion FCFA

.

Following the procedures carried out by the FCTC Auditor, it has been established that the value of this Sukuk asset is at least equal to 200,025 billion FCFA.
