During the month of November 2020, the business climate indicator in the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) came out slightly down by 1.21% compared to its level in October. 2020, according to data from the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).
This indicator stood at 97.4 against 98.6 at the end of October 2020.

"This situation reflects in particular a relative decline in order books in the trade and services sectors," said the BCEAO.

As regards the trade turnover index, it contracted by 4.8%, over one year, in November 2020, after a decline of 1.9% the previous month, mainly in relation , according to BCEAO services, with the decline in sales of petroleum and food products.

In addition, the rise in industrial production slowed down to 3.3% in November 2020, against 4.5% the previous month, in line in particular with the deceleration in the pace of production growth in the extractive industries.

As for the index of turnover in market services, it rose by 0.7% during the month under review, against an increase of 1.8% the previous month.
