The BRVM (WAEMU Regional Stock Exchange, 8 countries) signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday with the American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d'Ivoire (AMCHAM CI).

The objective is to create a formal collaborative framework to carry out activities to promote the WAEMU regional financial market to American investors.

The Togolese Félix Edoh Kossi Amenounve, managing director of the BRVM, also hopes to raise awareness among member companies of AMCHAM on the opportunities offered by the Abidjan Stock Exchange.

The BRVM has already made continuous stock market data available to the Chamber in order to feed its website and the newsletters distributed to US investors.

AMCHAM Côte d'Ivoire and the international network will constitute a strategic partner that will allow the BRVM to have a better foothold within the community of American businesses and investors.

The Stock Exchange wishes to welcome big names from the business world such as Coca Cola, Visa, Citibank, PWC, General Electric. So many companies already active in the Ivorian economy and which could also be interested in other countries in the region.
