Considered until now as the prime contractor for the project to extend Félix Houphouët Boigny Airport in Abidjan (AERIA), China Railway could be disillusioned while the French Bouygues Group positions.

The case for the expansion of Abidjan airport has not yet given its final verdict, given the twists and turns of recent weeks. In its edition of October 12, the magazine Africa Intelligence reveals that the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara finally awarded the contract for this contract to the Bouygues group. Information confirmed by other sources close to the case.

Estimated at nearly 42 billion FCFA, the airport's extension works, which will mainly consist of the construction of modern infrastructures worthy of the aerocity program, are expected to last 12 months.

This program covers an area of 3700 ha and includes three components, including the extension of the aircraft parking area accompanied by the creation of parking posts for additional aircraft; the construction of a business aviation terminal (FBO); and the increase in the terminal's reception capacity to five million in 2022 compared to two million previously.
